LIFE CYCLE- Design

ELECTRICS

With electrics, our materials, processes and external production really focus on 2 major aspects:

• Energy and Chemicals/rare materials

Again, these seemly simple aspects have far-reaching effects and are woven into not only the production but also the distribution of products used for electrics.

Inputs

Inputs refer to anything that goes into the production of scenery and can be broken down into two categories: Materials and processes.  The process portion specifically relates to the process in which we as theatre practitioners use the material inputs.

Outputs

Outputs refer to what produced from the construction of sets and props and again will focus on 2 categories: Production and Process.  The production aspect focuses again on materials but specifically, what these materials do to both people and planet when being made, before they even come into the scene shop.  Output process, focuses specifically on the outputs that arise from the production process of the specific material as well as the output into the scene shop itself as it is being used during construction.

Resources

In addition to specific pages for set and prop materials, processes and production, here are links to specific articles that relate to sets and props that you may find interesting.  These can also be found in the resources link.
